Missing My Grandchildren

Hi kids. Nana and Papa are having a great time in Deerfield Beach, FL with Aunt Ginny and Uncle Timmy. We are spending lots of hours at the beach and pool and laughing a lot. We really love it here, but we really miss you all. But, before you know it, we will be home.
Loving and missing you.

Kara Michelle's First Communion

I have finally completed editing the pictures I took at Kara's First Communion and put them together in a slideshow. It was a very exciting day and so much fun to see everyone. Thank God these times come around so we can all socialize. Emily kept telling me, "Kara looks like a bride." Hope Papa and I get to see that. Anyway, enjoy the show.

Kara's 2nd Grade Picture

Do you see the date of this posting? Yes, it is May 21st and Kristen gave me Kara's picture today. I have had Zach's so long you have to go to "older posts" to see it. That's my Kristen, very scheduled in many ways, but NEVER on time with anything. Now my Shelley, very scheduled, not so much, but ALWAYS on time. Put them together and I will have one PERFECT daughter:~)

Sorry I got carried away. Back to our beautiful Kara. Kara is in second grade, doing great scholastically and enjoying life.

My Grandchildrens' Flags

Kara asked me to post these flags. China's flag is the flag of Emily's birth country. Kazakhstan's flag is the flag of Zachary's and Alex's birth country. Russia's flag is the flag of Kara's birth country. The flag of the United States of America is not only the flag of Amanda's birth country, but it is now the flag of all my grandchildren. God Bless America!

My Very Special Guardian Angel

With today being Mother's Day my thoughts were full of Amanda, as I am sure her Mommy and Daddy's were also. I read in a magazine the following:

"Though our loved ones in Heaven watch over all our celebrations, when we're really missing someone, our angel may inspire another person to do or say something special to signal their presence."

This has happened to me many times. And I'm sure this also happens for all of you. You may not know it, but as the years pass, you will. That I am sure of.

We all had a great time at brunch at the Gideon Putnam. It is Kara's favorite place for brunch. I believe it is mine, too. I ate much more than I should have and totally enjoyed looking from one grandchild to the other. I have been Nana for almost nine years now, and I still can not get over the wonder of you. I know that sounds strange, but we all know your Nana is strange. I'm looking forward to a fun summer.

Zach's Grandparents' Day - 2009

Papa and I were in Florida all of March. So, unfortunately, we were not able to go to Zach's Grandparents Day this year. These are pictures Don's parents took. Zach is doing great in school and meets every challenge he is given.

Papa joined Zach for lunch a day at school soon after we came home. Papa was thrilled Zach introduced him to all his friends. It was a special time for both of them.
Hugs and kisses,
